Hilltop holiday cottage is a beautifully appointed holiday rental property for up to 4 – full of character in the village of Bowes, just outside Barnard Castle.

This holiday cottage has a lovely cosy lounge complete with log burner, comfy leather sofas and timber window shutters. There is a modern flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player and a selection of dvd’s for you to enjoy.

The large kitchen diner comes complete with a double oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave oven. Again we have timber shutters to the bay window. Both the lounge and kitchen have padded window seats.

Upstairs, the 2 spacious bedrooms – one double, one twin – have very comfy beds and large built in wardrobes and loads of storage. The modern bathroom is complete with bath & over shower.

Outside the rear South facing garden is a delight, with views of the surrounding countryside. The garden is enclosed and dog friendly.

Just down the street from the holiday cottage is the village pub The Ancient Unicorn (which is reputed to be haunted), serving a selection of fine wine, real Ale and a delicious menu.

From the front door of the cottage, access to the Pennine Way is approx 200 yards! and offers some of the best walking trails in the country.

Bowes is in an ideal location just off the A66 between the M6 in the North West and the A1 (M) in the North East and is surrounded by stunning countryside.

Of course all bedding and towels are included, along with an ample supply of Tea, Coffee and Sugar when you arrive. We also provide a welcome pack of coal and wood for the fire.
